Seven Hills Pediatric Center Now Accepting Sub Acute Care Clients! Five Stars for SHPC! The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid recently awarded SHPC 5 out of 5 stars in its quality review. This rating places SHPC in the top one percent of nursing homes in Massachusetts. Seven Hills Pediatric Center is a Pediatric Skilled Nursing Community which provides comprehensive, compassionate short-term and long-term care to children and young adults with complex medical needs. Children enter prior to their 22nd birthday. In independent nursing home evaluations, Seven Hills Pediatric Center ranks in the top FOUR percent of all nursing homes nationally. Long-Term Care Children enrolled in our long-term care receive all the necessary medical, nursing, therapy, and leisure services to enhance their quality of life. Many residents come to us with a history of congenital birth defects, past infections, or traumatic events. Cognitively, residents are under the age of 12 months and non-ambulatory. The Medical Review Team (MRT) of the Department of Public Health approves all admissions. Children attend an on-site, accredited, Department of Education Special Needs School during the day. The staff of educators, all of whom specialize in the education of children with developmental disabilities, works closely with each child’s individual school system to develop a plan to assist each child in reaching his or her greatest potential. Community involvement and field trips are also an integral part of the children’s daily lives. Technology has changed the face of medical care and the staff at SHPC has many years of experience working with residents who are ventilator dependent, have tracheostomies, or require gastrointestinal feeding. For children who require additional monitoring, we have a state-of-the-art individual monitoring system. Short-Term Post Hospitalization Care SHPC provides short-term care for children, regardless of cognitive level, who require 24-hour medical support. Children can stay up to 30 days per stay, for a total of 90 days per year. Staff works with each family to develop a transition plan to move the child from hospital to home. Our goal is your goal: to get your child home as quickly as possible. Seven Hills Pediatric Center is located in Groton, Massachusetts on six rolling acres of land. A new 35,000 square foot West Wing was recently constructed to provide a beautiful and technically sophisticated setting for our residents.
