"Why I Chose Crotched Mountain School at Seven Hills New Hampshire" -  Speech Language Pathologist, Shale Carey

Crotched Mountain School has not only met but exceeded my expectations in so many ways.

Shale-SLPWhen I first came across Seven Hills Foundation, I knew immediately that it was the perfect place for me. My passion as a Speech Language Pathologist has always been working with students, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder and neurodevelopmental disabilities. This is my wheelhouse—where I feel most comfortable, where I thrive, and where I truly care about making a difference. When I saw that Seven Hills had a specialized school setting at the Crotched Mountain School designed to support these students, I knew it was exactly where I needed to be. The opportunity to work with emerging and early communicators was something I couldn’t pass up. It felt like the perfect fit.

I have now been with Seven Hills New Hampshire for almost three years. Before joining, I worked at Crotched Mountain, and when Seven Hills acquired it, I became part of this incredible team. Over the years, the Crotched Mountain School has not only met but exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Beyond the students, one of the things I love most about this setting is the level of collaboration. Our clinical department is deeply connected—we work hand in hand with occupational therapists, behavior analysts, and an incredible support team. This creates an environment where we are constantly adjusting and refining our treatment plans to best meet our students' needs. The support and teamwork here make this such a rewarding place to work.
