Seven Hills ASPiRE! has been awarded $7,500 from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank America's Most Convenient Bank® to provide workforce readiness and employment opportunities to ASPiRE! participants at its job training site at Coe’s Reservoir and Park. The ASPiRE! Workforce Readiness and Employment Program provides individualized soft-skills development and a variety of vocational training models, including community-based day support, group-supported employment, and individual-supported employment. Supports include functional vocational assessment, career planning, resume development, job-specific training, job placement, on-site job coaching, interviewing skills, and more, all tailored to each individual’s needs and goals.
The newly renovated and relocated Stearns Tavern at Coe’s Reservoir and Park house a Seven Hills Café and community meeting area, while also lending its space to the Seven Hills ASPiRE! Workforce Readiness and Employment program so that adults with disabilities can learn real time skills in providing food services and hospitality to all who visit. Generous funds from the TD Charitable Foundation will support efforts to introduce a sustainable farming component on-site that will teach participants how to grow vegetables using a vertical tower garden, a wall-mounted hydroponic unit, and a community garden space and incorporate healthy foods into menu offerings.
