Navigating the loss of a loved one can be overwhelming at any age. Thankfully, young people in the Worcester area have a place to turn for support. The Carriage House, a program of YOU, Inc, an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation, provides grief support services for children and adolescents ages three to eighteen who have lost a parent, primary caregiver or sibling, as well as members of their family members and caretakers. Participants have access to enhanced clinical expertise and services, supported by a series of four formal, specialized trainings for clinicians covering the spectrum of grief, loss and trauma. The Carriage House team hosts quarterly Community Grief Support Workshops for participants, families and the community at large, while the co-located Worcester Family Resource Center proactively assists families who are experiencing grief to connect with supportive community services.
YOU, Inc. is grateful for generous grants of $5,000 from the Haley Cremer Foundation and $15,000 from Reliant Foundation to support the Carriage House Clinical Care for Grief and Loss program.
This funding helps ensure that vulnerable young people and their families receive the supports they need to navigate their loss, and find hope and healing.
