“One of the most rewarding things is to receive the honor of being trusted with clients to the degree that they do and share in the progress and the growth they make overtime.”
Why did you deserve to work for Seven Hills?
I originally worked for Children’s Friend, which then became an affiliate of the Seven Hills Foundation. Now we have integrated our clinical work with two other affiliates, Family Services of Central MA and YOU, Inc.to become Seven Hills Behavioral Health in an expanded system of care throughout central Massachusetts.
Who are your patients?
My clients are children, adolescents, and adults. I work with clients with a variety of issues, anxiety, depression, autism, and mood disorders. I also provide therapy with singles, couples, groups, and families.
How do you feel we should deal with the stigma around mental health?
Normalize it! Let people know that going to therapy does not make things worse. Rather therapy is safe and a type of self-care, that I encourage people to try it out.
What is the best thing about working at Seven Hills?
At Seven Hills I get to see a vast variety of clients and love working with my colleagues.
Any skills you have learned while working?
I have learned a lot about my profession and my personal growth. I have seen how time and again how important self-care is to prioritize for myself and clients. I continue to learn from my colleagues about new therapies and strategies to help people with their emotions and the stressors in their life.
Any advice?
To love what you do. I really do love my work.
