Seven Hills Community Services is excited to thank the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts and the Greater Lowell Community Foundation for their grant award of $6,663, given through the Nashoba Valley Community Healthcare Fund. These funds will be used towards the purchase of a WhisperGlide accessible swing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in one of our group residential homes in North Central Massachusetts.
A WhisperGlide is a wheelchair accessible glider swing designed to fit a wheelchair and a table with a bench across from one another. The bench can seat two other people with seat cushions bringing the maximum amount of occupants on the swing to three people including the person in the wheelchair. Participants on the swing will be able to enjoy the outdoors and socialize with their families and friends while sitting safely in their wheelchair.
We are so grateful to the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts and the Greater Lowell Community Foundation for this wonderful award – just in time for spring!
