Krystle Rosario is a Literacy Coach with Family Services of Central MA Summer Literacy Initiative funded by United Way of Central MA and the Greater Worcester Community Foundation. This is her third summer working for this project. She works with a group of eighteen children at the Plumley Village Community Center. The children have completed Grades One, Two or Three. The summer program is a 3 hour program for 6 weeks that combines literacy, art, games and fun to prevent summer learning loss. This year, even more importantly, we are addressing the learning lag that happened for many children due to remote schooling during the pandemics. Also due to the pandemic, we have split the group of children into two sessions, morning and afternoon to allow for greater social distancing during the program. She is holding one of 9 children’s books that we ordered this summer on the themes of Friendship and Diversity/Inclusion. Thank you, Krystle, for working with children in this Program.
