Family Services is grateful to the Nellie Mae Education Foundation for their $12,472 grant to support the Summer Literacy Initiative's Southbridge Expansion Project.

The Bethel Outreach School, located in the largest urban slum in Africa—"Nairobi's Kibera Slum"—provides primary education to desperately poor children, many of whom were orphaned due to AIDS or violence. The Seven Hills Behavioral Health Food Pantries in Fall River, New Bedford, and Taunton serve children & families, individuals, and the elderly who are food insecure, including many who are homeless or without stable housing, residents with limited English proficiency, and individuals with health vulnerabilities including those with mental health disorders and/or those struggling with addiction.

Project Flourish assists entry-level early childhood workers in preparing to qualify to become classroom teachers in Massachusetts (MA). They serve both group child care educators and family child care educators.
