Through their St. Vincent Healthcare Fund, the Diocese of Worcester has thoughtfully granted Children’s Friend, an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation, with an increased grant award of $3,000 towards The Carriage House Grief Support Program. Children who are struggling with the heartache of losing a parent or sibling visit The Carriage House to participate in free grief support groups that are guided by trained volunteer facilitators. The Carriage House goal is to provide the highest quality grief support for as many grieving children, teens, and caregivers in central Massachusetts as possible, to enable them to process their grief in safe and effective ways. The COVID-19 pandemic has made grief support all the more important in our community. Not only the families whose loved ones died due to the virus, but families grieving any deaths have been hurt by the trauma of the pandemic, which prevented them from being with their loved ones and mourning in the company of friends and relatives. These incredible funds from the Diocese of Worcester will help The Carriage House continue to run these beneficial support groups remotely throughout the pandemic and in-person once it is safe to do so. Thank you so much to the Diocese Worcester for their continued and increased support.
