The United Way of Central Massachusetts has awarded $8,863 to Children’s Friend, an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation. These wonderful funds will be used towards providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy for children seeking services at the Ellsworth Clinic. Dialectical Behavior Therapy is an evidence-based therapy that teaches children and young adults to respond differently to situations in their lives that trigger their urges to harm themselves. The program involves individual therapy, group skills training, and telephone consultation when they are about to harm themselves, as well as parent groups. As the only facility providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy in central Massachusetts, we are so happy that the United Way of Central Massachusetts has recognize how important this amazing program is with this generous grant.
