Untitled-2Seven Hills Rhode Island (SHRI) provides quality care and services to children of varying abilities and life challenges who live in Rhode Island through various models that fall under its Child & Family Services division. Our full array of Children’s Services starts with infants through our Early Intervention program and continues with specialized community-based Home-Based Therapeutic Services, Personal Assistance Services and Supports, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Respite Services. Seven Hills provides a continuum of care through the developmental stages and supports families along the process.

SHRI’s Home-Based Therapeutic Services (HBTS) program provides specialized, intensive services and treatments guided for children aged birth through 21 by an approved individualized treatment plan. Services are provided in the child’s home or other age-appropriate community settings, and ongoing parent participation is required to maximize what is learned during treatment. HBTS services are offered to enable a child to participate in their family and community by helping improve communication, behavioral, psychosocial, and developmental skills. The SHRI Clinical Director leads a team of highly qualified licensed healthcare professionals who support approximately 55 families in their journey of raising a child with a disability each year.

The SHRI Personal Assistance Services and Supports (PASS) program helps 80 families of children with complex healthcare needs with daily life skills. The support through PASS works to improve a child’s ability to participate in social situations and function in the community with dignity. The highly trained staff works with families and their children to develop home and community-based support systems with the goal of building self-determination and independence. Seven Hills also develop a PASS plan with each family to focus on personal care needs, safety, and social integration. PASS maximizes opportunities for each family to help their child succeed in the least restrictive and most natural setting. As children mature into adulthood, the skills developed through these services help them take greater responsibility and control of their own lives. Children eligible for PASS must be under 21, live in Rhode Island, and be diagnosed with a chronic condition that is moderate to severe.

Lastly, the SHRI Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program provides 20-30 hours of weekly, intensive home-based services to children, 3-12 years of age who live in Rhode Island and who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The ABA Treatment Team consists of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, Lead Therapist, Treatment Coordinator, Direct Support Staff, and Licensed Therapist who work with the child and his or her family to develop an Individualized Treatment Plan where various behavioral and social goals are addressed. SHRI currently serves 25 children through the ABA program.

SHRI is grateful to the Navigant Credit Union Community Giving Program for the recent gift of $2,500 to support children and families receiving services at SHRI. Providing a holistic approach to ensuring children and families are well supported, funding will be used to purchase (25) $100 gift cards to grocery Stores, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Walmart, and Target for families who are struggling to purchase basic needs such as food, diapers, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items. Providing our clients with access to basic needs helps improve their overall health and well-being.

Thank you to Navigant Credit Union for supporting the Enhancing Child and Family Services Outcomes Through Basic Needs” initiative!
