Engaging over five million Americans in service, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) has awarded Family Services of Central Massachusetts to continue providing AmeriCorps Seniors’ programs, RSVP and Senior Companions, with $203,347 and $245,781 grant awards, respectively.
The Corporation for National and Community Service’s mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering by operating programs such as AmeriCorps, the Volunteer Generation Fund, and other national service initiatives. As AmeriCorps programs, RSVP and Senior Companions connects volunteers who are 55+ with opportunities throughout their communities to use their skills for worthwhile causes or to provide companionship and assistance to seniors who have difficulty with daily living tasks. Family Services of Central Massachusetts is proud to partner with the Corporation for National and Community Service to offer these AmeriCorps programs for retirees who feel they still have a lot to offer to their communities.
