Over 170 individuals, families, and professionals came to meet and learn from 47 exhibitors providing resources and services to improve lives. Attendees welcomed the chance to learn from one another and vendors in a face-to-face setting.
“This is wonderful! I had no idea there were this many organizations providing support and services for people with intellectual disabilities. Many of these providers offer services that help people across their lifespan, not just transition-age youth.”, said Tonya Lampher, parent and Family Support Specialist at Seven Hills Family Services in Athol. “Meeting providers face-to-face is so helpful and appreciated!”
Self Advocate Christopher Duffley from Manchester, NH, provided an inspirational keynote address. Christopher is a speaker, artist and radio host (www.unlimitedhoperadio.com) who travels to inspire and motivate other youth and adults with disabilities as they prepare for life after high school. His love of music, microphones and anything technology has set his career in motion at the age of 21.
A special thank you to Eliana Agudelo, Seven Hills Transitional Support Specialist and coordinator of today’s event, and our partners, The Arc Massachusetts, the Department of Developmental Services, and Open Sky Community Services.
